The conference brought together more than 100 leading researchers and practitioners from multiple countries in the field of software engineering. <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa stood out through exceptional faculty leadership, student involvement and research contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Three faculty members held key leadership roles in organizing the conference: <a href=\"https:\/\/shidler.hawaii.edu\/itm-home\">Department of Information Technology Management<\/a> Associate Professor Daniel Port served as general chair of <abbr>ESEM<\/abbr> 2025, overseeing the event\u2019s overall planning and execution; Department of Information Technology Management Professor Rick Kazman was finance chair; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ics.hawaii.edu\/\">Department of Information and Computer Sciences<\/a> (<abbr title=\"Information and Computer Sciences\">ICS<\/abbr>) Assistant Professor Anthony Peruma was the student volunteer chair, managing a team of volunteers who supported the conference sessions and logistics. investigated how large language models can assist in automatically enhancing method naming practices in scientific codebases.<\/li>\n<li>&ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/conf.researchr.org\/details\/esem-2025\/esem-2025-vision-and-emerging-results-track-\/10\/Identifier-Name-Similarities-An-Exploratory-Study\">Identifier Name Similarities: An Exploratory Study<\/a>&rdquo; examined the extent and patterns of identifier similarities across software projects.<\/li>\n<li>&ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/conf.researchr.org\/details\/esem-2025\/esem-2025-technical-track\/12\/SIExVulTS-Sensitive-Information-Exposure-Vulnerability-Detection-System-using-Transf\">SIExVulTS: Sensitive Information Exposure Vulnerability Detection System using Transformer Models and Static Analysis<\/a>&rdquo; proposed a novel vulnerability detection system to identify and verify sensitive information exposure in Java applications.<\/li>\n<li>&ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/conf.researchr.org\/details\/esem-2025\/esem-2025-journal-first-track\/4\/Software-solutions-for-newcomers-onboarding-in-software-projects-A-systematic-liter\">Software Solutions for Newcomers Onboarding in Software Projects: A Systematic Literature Review<\/a>&rdquo; synthesized research on tools and methods to assist new contributors joining software projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;<abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa\u2019s prominent participation in this internationally recognized conference underscores its rising influence in the global empirical software engineering community,&rdquo;
