The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> named Ivan Hartison as the 2025 recipient of the President\u2019s Award for Excellence in Building and Grounds Maintenance.<\/p>\n

Hartison was honored for his vital work at the Isabella Aiona Abbott Life Sciences Building at UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa. He plays an important role in high-level research spaces, including BSL<\/abbr>-2 labs and endangered species insectaries, where he helps ensure safety, sanitation and the protection of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s natural resources.<\/p>\n

Beyond his daily duties, Hartison is known for going above and beyond, whether helping students recover endangered Hawaiian flies, lending a hand with heavy lifting or stepping in to support colleagues.<\/p>\n

Through his commitment to his job at UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, Hartison earned the respect from both peers and students, embodying the spirit of teamwork and service at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n
