\"PEARL<\/p>\n

Pathways for Excellence and Achievement in Research and Learning (PEARL<\/abbr>)<\/a> participants have produced an online trainer’s guide to help students with research. The teams designed and implemented collaborative instructional approaches in reading, writing and thinking critically to assist students in creating projects across diverse disciplines.<\/p>\n

The three-year project provided professional development for teams of teachers and librarians from 20 Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> DOE and private schools working on researching skills with their students.<\/p>\n

The trainer’s guide is downloadable from the PEARL<\/abbr> website<\/a>. The site also showcases examples of student projects as well as teaching resources for the instructors.<\/p>\n

Karen Lee<\/strong>, executive director of the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> P–20 Partnerships for Education<\/a>, noted that the project is “a perfect example of work done in the cross-sector space that builds critical skills in our high school students to be ready for life after college.”<\/p>\n

PEARL<\/abbr> is funded by the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa Institute of Museum and Library Services and directed by the Library and Information Science Program<\/a> in the Department of Information and Computer Sciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n
