For more, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/news\/2025\/4\/28\/womens-water-polo-water-polo-to-face-cal-in-ncaa-championship.aspx\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa athletics website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Original story:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Powered by a stifling defensive performance, the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s water polo team<\/a> claimed its second consecutive conference title with an 8-6 win over Long Beach State in the Big West Championship final on April 27 at the Anteater Aquatics Complex in Irvine, California.<\/p>\n<p>The Rainbow Wahine broke out to an early lead, <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> goalkeeper Daisy Logtens came up with 14 saves on her way to earning the tournament\u2019s <abbr title=\"Most Valuable Player\">MVP<\/abbr> award, and the Rainbow Wahine (21-4) claimed the Big West\u2019s automatic berth to the National Collegiate Women\u2019s Water Polo Championship with the program\u2019s sixth Big West Championship title.<\/p>\n<p>Seven <abbr>UH<\/abbr> players scored in the first half and the top-seeded \u2018Bows shut out the second-seeded Beach over a span of 18 minutes, 24 seconds to take a 7-2 lead into the fourth quarter. Long Beach State made a push with three goals in the final period, but the \u2018Bows maintained the lead and held off the Beach to celebrate back-to-back tournament titles for the first time in program history.<\/p>\n<p>The Rainbow Wahine will make the program\u2019s eighth appearance in the <abbr title=\"National Collegiate Athletics Association\">NCAA<\/abbr> tournament set for May 9&#8211;11 in Indianapolis.
