At <abbr>UHERO<\/abbr>, he leads research efforts on <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s housing market, authoring reports and blogs, as well as managing and sharing policy relevant data resources. He was nominated for his work using <abbr>AI<\/abbr> to empower students as leaders to take charge of their learning and impact the local community. Under his mentorship, groups of students shared their work on <abbr>AI<\/abbr> in education at a series of conferences in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One of my favorite books, <em>The Alchemist<\/em> by Paulo Cohelo, introduces the notion of a person\u2019s &lsquo;personal legend,&rsquo; or destiny in life,&rdquo; Pennington said. &ldquo;The story reveals that when one pursues their personal legend, the universe will conspire to help them achieve their goals.
