Library and information management (<abbr>No<\/abbr>. 17 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 51&#8211;100 world) and Earth and marine sciences (<abbr>No<\/abbr>. 20 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 51&#8211;100 world) also placed within the top 100 in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven additional subjects placed in the world\u2019s top 1&#37; (within top 250 in the world out of <a href=\"https:\/\/research.com\/universities-colleges\/university-statistics\">more than 25,000 colleges and universities worldwide<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geophysics: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 30 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 101&#8211;150 world<\/li>\n<li>Geology: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 31 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 101&#8211;150 world<\/li>\n<li>Anthropology: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 35 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 101&#8211;170 world<\/li>\n<li>Agriculture and forestry: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 34 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 151&#8211;200 world<\/li>\n<li>English language and literature: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 40 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 151&#8211;200 world<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 42 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;225 world<\/li>\n<li>Geography: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 34 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;250 world<\/li>\n<li>History: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 42 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;250 world<\/li>\n<li>Politics: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 43 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;250 world<\/li>\n<li>Physics and astronomy: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 45 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;250 world<\/li>\n<li>Communication and media studies: <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 57 U.S., <abbr>No<\/abbr>. 201&#8211;250 world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;These rankings reflect the outstanding scholarship and dedication of our faculty, staff and students,&rdquo; <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost Michael Bruno said. &ldquo;They reaffirm our university\u2019s reputation for excellence and innovation, not just in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, but on a global scale. For the communities we serve and the students considering <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, these rankings are a powerful endorsement of the exceptional education and opportunities we provide.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa was ranked in four broad subject areas and 22 narrow subject areas.
