Bobby Curran, longtime radio voice of the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa football and men\u2019s basketball for more than three decades, died on March 9, at the age of 69.<\/p>\n

Inducted into the UH<\/abbr> Sports Circle of Honor in 2023, Curran called more than 400 football broadcasts during his career. He began in radio at KTUH<\/abbr> while attending UH<\/abbr> Mānoa, earning his bachelor\u2019s degree in 1987. He started calling high school sports before joining the television broadcasts for UH<\/abbr> football as sideline reporter and color analyst. Later he became a lead play-by-play announcer for KGU<\/abbr> Radio.<\/p>\n

Curran also called multiple bowl games, NCAA<\/abbr> Tournament appearances, and UH<\/abbr> baseball, volleyball, and women’s basketball games. He hosted the “Bobby Curran Show” on KKEA<\/abbr> and was named Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Sportscaster of the Year six times.<\/p>\n
