University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa men\u2019s volleyball<\/a> player Kristian Titriyski was named the AVCA<\/abbr> (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Division I<\/abbr>–II<\/abbr> National Player of the Week after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of straight-set wins over then-No. 3 UC<\/abbr> Irvine.<\/p>\n

Titriyski was also named Big West Player of the Week for the second time this season and Freshman of the Week for the third time. Against the Anteaters, Titriyski averaged 6.00 kills per set and 7.00 points per set and hit a combined .417 in the two-match series, including .571 during the March 2 win.<\/p>\n

Titriyski is the first UH<\/abbr> freshman to win AVCA<\/abbr> Player of the Week honors since Sinisa Zarkovic in 2013 and the third UH<\/abbr> freshman to ever win it along with Costas Theocharidis in 2000.<\/p>\n

In the series opener, Titriyski tallied a match-high 17 kills along with two aces, three digs, and two blocks. He followed that performance with a match-high 19 kills with one ace, six digs and four blocks on February 28. For the week, he averaged 1.50 digs per set and 1.00 blocks per set.<\/p>\n

On the season, the freshman leads the team with a 4.20 kill average, which ranks No. 6 nationally and third in the Big West. He has a team-best 27 aces and ranks No. 7 nationally with 0.54 aces per set.<\/p>\n
