University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa women\u2019s water polo<\/a> attacker Ema Vernoux was named Big West Water Polo Player of the Week on February 26 after scoring a team-high 14 goals over four matches at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.<\/p>\n

The freshman led the Rainbow Wahine to a 3-1 record and third-place finish in the tournament against top-ranked teams. She scored four goals in UH<\/abbr>\u2019s historic 8-5 win over No.<\/abbr> 3 UCLA<\/abbr>, their first victory over the Bruins since 2011.<\/p>\n

Vernoux totaled 14 goals across the tournament, including a game winner against No.<\/abbr> 4 California. She now leads UH<\/abbr> with 43 goals, ranking third in the Big West. UH<\/abbr> moved up to No.<\/abbr> 3 in national polls and begins Big West play on March 7 at UC<\/abbr> Santa Barbara.<\/p>\n
