With industry representatives leading the initiative, the program will be tailored to the needs of local firms and help in finding the right people who want to serve <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Cradle-to-career&rsquo; for aspiring engineers<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2020\/08\/03\/engineering-industry-grow-talent-pipeline\/\">Engineering Sector Partnership was born out of a July 2020 summit convened by <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> and Chamber of Commerce Hawaii<\/a>. Business leaders and educators collaborated to examine the state\u2019s engineering talent pipeline, ultimately setting a goal of creating a cradle-to-career system for aspiring engineers.<\/p>\n<p>Today, graduates of the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa College of Engineering fill 73&#37; of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s engineering positions. However, the remaining 27&#37; presents a significant challenge for the state.
