The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s soccer team<\/a> completed its historic regular season with a 1-0 shutout win over Long Beach State on senior night, October 31, at Waipiʻo<\/span> Peninsula Soccer Stadium. UH<\/abbr> finished the regular season with an 8-1-1 Big West record and 12-7-1 overall.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine celebrated a group of seven seniors with their seventh straight home win, and will carry that momentum into next week\u2019s Big West Championships, which UH<\/abbr> will host starting on November 7.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> won its eighth Big West match—a program-record for conference wins—while reaching 12 wins for the fifth time in school history. UH<\/abbr>\u2019s 25 point total in the Big West standings is the most by a team in the conference since 2016, and the most since the league went to a 10-match schedule in 2021. Nine players on the team are from the state of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> and Long Beach State traded good chances throughout the first half but neither side was able to break through until the ‘Bows finally put one in the back of the net just before halftime. Fabiola Zamora delivered a beautiful service to the front of the net on a corner kick, and Tatum Porter put it away off a ricochet to make it 1-0 with seven seconds left in the half.<\/p>\n

From there, the Rainbow Wahine sealed the win with their eighth second-half shutout in the last nine matches led by reserve goalkeeper Natalie Dobler’s three saves.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine now turn their attention to the Big West Championships, on November 7 and 10 at Waipiʻo<\/span> Peninsula Soccer Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
