2024 M\u0101noa award winners being recogized during the October 26 game.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ten recipients of the 2024 University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Awards<\/a> were recognized on October 26, during the Rainbow Warriors victorious Homecoming game against the Nevada Wolf Pack. Honored for their contributions in teaching, research and service, the awardees were welcomed on-field at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex after the first quarter, joined by UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost Michael Bruno and UH<\/abbr> President David Lassner.<\/p>\n

“A great university is made up of great people. The faculty, staff and students we honor this year represent some of the best of the best. We are so proud of them, and we are so thankful to have the opportunity to recognize them in front of so many supporters of the university,” Bruno said.<\/p>\n

Donald Reid Womack, chair of the Department of Music<\/a> and recipient of the Board of Regents\u2019 Medal for Excellence in Research, was appreciative to share the experience with his son. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s really nice to take this moment, in the middle of the game, to recognize the work of faculty. I\u2019m grateful to be part of it, especially since my son got to be here with me,” Womack said. “Thanks, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, for this honor. And Go Bows!”<\/p>\n

Nalani Minton, director of the ʻIKE<\/span> AO PONO<\/a> program at the School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene<\/a> and recipient of the UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Presidential Award for Outstanding Service, shared her excitement.<\/p>\n

“It was exciting to be recognized as educators at the Homecoming Game surrounded by the UH<\/abbr> \u02bbohana, community members and families, all cheering the Rainbow Warriors on to win against Nevada,” she said.<\/p>\n

The awardees included: Nicole Reyes, Stephanie Teves, Benjamin Shappee, Malte Stuecker, Womack, Manu Kaʻiama<\/span>, Louis Bousquet, Elina Hamilton, N\u0101lani Minton and Jonna Eagle. <\/p>\n

Bruno aims to make this recognition an annual tradition at the UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Homecoming game.<\/p>\n

The UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Awards honor UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa faculty, staff and students from diverse fields for their efforts and contributions. A formal ceremony for the awardees, hosted by Lassner and Bruno, was held earlier in the year at Kennedy Theatre.<\/p>\n
