The highly anticipated festival opens on October 3, and <abbr>ACM<\/abbr> participants are encouraged to register for free tickets and passes, courtesy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/hiff.org\/hiffxacm-accelerator\/\"><abbr>HIFF<\/abbr>x<abbr>ACM<\/abbr> Accelerator program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>HIFFx<\/abbr><abbr>ACM<\/abbr> Accelerator is designed to help budding filmmakers and creative media students make critical connections within the industry while furthering their own professional and creative goals. The exclusive <abbr>ACM<\/abbr> pass offers free admission to five <abbr>HIFF<\/abbr>44 premiere screenings, access to industry panels, and invitations to special presentations at <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu,\">O&#699;ahu,<\/span> including screenings of renowned films.<\/p>\n<p>Said <abbr>ACM<\/abbr> System Founder and Director Chris Lee, &ldquo;We\u2019re so excited to partner for a second year in the <abbr>HIFF<\/abbr> x <abbr>ACM<\/abbr> Accelerator program. Already, over 400 students and faculty from across the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> System have signed up for the free tickets and we&#8217;re going to keep the registration open through the Festival.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<h2><em>Boba Fett<\/em>, special screenings<\/h2>\n<p>One of the festival\u2019s highlights is the in-person appearance of <em>Star Wars<\/em> actor Temuera Morrison at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> on October 16, for a screening of <a href=\"https:\/\/hiff.org\/events\/inconversationwithtemueramorrison\/\"><em>The Book of Boba Fett<\/em><\/a>. The event will be followed by a special presentation of <a href=\"https:\/\/hiff.org\/events\/hawaiipono1970\/\"><em><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Ponoi\">Pono&#699;&#299;<\/span> 1970<\/em><\/a>, a documentary celebrating Hawaiian cultural icons, such as <span aria-label=\"Iolani\">&#699;Iolani<\/span> Luahine and Sonny Chillingworth, featuring precious images out of the campus\u2019 premiere archive, <a href=\"https:\/\/uluulu.westoahu.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Uluulu.\">&#699;Ulu&#699;ulu.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beyond screenings, <abbr>ACM<\/abbr> students can dive deeper into the festival through networking events like the Cinema and Media Mentor program, and <abbr>HIFF<\/abbr>\u2019s Metaverse, which connects them with media professionals globally. These opportunities expand their exposure to the broader film and media industries, helping them explore career paths beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are thrilled to collaborate with the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Academy for Creative Media through the <abbr>HIFF<\/abbr>x<abbr>ACM<\/abbr> Accelerator program.
