Meet Daniel Sugai (MD &#8217;12), a proud graduate of the John A. When he\u2019s not treating patients in-person, Sugai reviews skin care products, answers questions and spreads information via various social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I get to share the joy of how [my patients] are progressing through life. That continuity is beautiful. I really love how fulfilling my days are,&rdquo; Sugai said.<\/p>\n<p>He credits <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa with giving him a strong foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I had a really great experience in my four years of undergraduate education at <abbr>UH<\/abbr>,&rdquo; said Sugai. &ldquo;I am also grateful for receiving the Presidential Scholarship which not only covered my schooling, but also gave me a travel fund to travel to India where I had an eye-opening experience. This trip was so meaningful to me that I used my stories from this trip in my medical school and residency applications.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Social media star<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-uh-alumni-sugai-d-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"man waving shaka\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-203207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-uh-alumni-sugai-d-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-uh-alumni-sugai-d-1-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/system-uh-alumni-sugai-d-1.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When he\u2019s not posting about dermatology, Sugai could be highlighting a favorite <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> food establishment.
