Josh Green, Chef Roy Yamaguchi and CIA President-Elect Michiel Bakker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Gov. Josh Green and state leaders highlighted the importance of this collaboration for <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>&#8216;s tourism and hospitality industry. The state secured $2 million in funding through <abbr title=\"Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism\">DBEDT<\/abbr> for the <abbr>CIP<\/abbr> x <abbr>CIA<\/abbr> collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;By investing in their employees\u2019 future, restaurant and hospitality employers can capitalize on this opportunity to retain and train key staff, incentivize employee retention, motivate talent, and provide  opportunities for growth and promotion,&rdquo; said Yamaguchi.<\/p>\n<p>The <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Tourism Authority is offering full scholarships for 32 industry professionals to join the first two cohorts this September.
