Information session for new Leeward CC degree<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Leeward Community College<\/a> is offering new pathways to teaching with the launch of two new online accelerated programs aimed at helping students quickly complete an associate’s degree in teaching or an alternative certification to teach career and technical education in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s high schools.<\/p>\n

Leeward is holding an information session to learn more about the associate in arts in teaching (AAT<\/abbr>)<\/a> on Wednesday, October 2, 5:30–7 p.m. in Room GT-105.<\/p>\n

Attendees will learn more about the AAT<\/abbr> degree, including the new 18-month accelerated degree program option and an alternative certification for career\/technical education (CTE<\/abbr>) licensure route. Instructors, counselors, student success specialists, power mentors and currently enrolled students will be available to answer questions. Degree requirements, support services available for Leeward CC<\/abbr> education majors and financial aid options will also be covered at the information session.<\/p>\n

Leeward Community College’s associate’s in teaching degree offers a solid liberal arts core and specific education classes that prepare students as a para-educator or to transfer to a four-year university’s teacher education program. The AAT<\/abbr> degree has articulation agreements in place with UH<\/abbr> Mānoa<\/a>, UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span><\/a> and Chaminade University<\/a>.<\/p>\n
