Windward Community College<\/a> welcomes fall with the 13th Annual Windward Hoʻolaulea<\/span>: A Homegrown Celebration on Saturday, September 28, 10 a.m. <\/p>\n

The free, family-friendly event features 68 unique arts and crafts booths, ʻono<\/span> ethnic food, keiki rides and activities, art exhibits, a college-sponsored silent auction and educational displays. Entertainment includes Brother Noland and his band, Kapena, Hiʻikua<\/span>, Pila Nahenahe, Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Loa, Chinky Mahoe’s hālau hula and more. <\/p>\n

The festival, co-sponsored by the college and the Kāneʻohe<\/span> Business Group<\/a>, is expected to draw more than 10,000 people islandwide.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the Windward Hoʻolaulea<\/span> will fund scholarships for Windward CC<\/abbr> students and other program support. Last year, more than 25 Windward Community College students received $1,000 each from event proceeds.\u2028\u2028 Kāneʻohe<\/span> Business Group members will be there to showcase their businesses at a trade show, and Windward Community College will have special tours to the Bioprocessing Medicinal Plant Garden and cultural demonstrations highlighting the new Hawaiian studies AA<\/abbr> degree program<\/a>.\u2028<\/p>\n

Festivities will take place under the giant banyan trees on the Great Lawn of the Windward campus.<\/p>\n
