Braun-Inglis was recognized for her dedication to cancer research and education. Her focus and commitment to assisting advanced practice providers (<abbr>APP<\/abbr>s) overcome barriers to their participation in clinical trials has led to a change in national policies.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"blocklink\">Related <em><abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> News<\/em> story: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2023\/09\/25\/christa-braun-inglis-nci-award\/\">National Cancer Institute &#8216;s Director&#8217;s Award for <abbr>UH<\/abbr> researcher<\/a><\/span><abbr><\/p>\n<p>Braun-Inglis is an oncology researcher whose research identified several challenges APPs face. She has made notable progress in expanding their role in National Cancer Institute (<abbr>NCI<\/abbr>) clinical trials, aiming to enhance their engagement and representation. Her clinical trial research includes increasing diversity, optimizing cancer care delivery, and focusing on specific areas such as breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is such an honor to receive the <abbr>ACCC<\/abbr> 2024 David King Community Clinical Scientist Award!&rdquo; said Braun-Inglis, who was also awarded the 2023 for her achievements in expanding the roles of <abbr>APP<\/abbr>s. &ldquo;<abbr>ACCC<\/abbr>&#8216;s dedication to multidisciplinary, team-based care continues to shine by acknowledging the important role advanced practice providers can play in clinical research.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>ACCC<\/abbr>&#8216;s endorsement of Braun-Inglis&#8217; proposal for an <abbr>APP<\/abbr> and clinical trials survey initiated national policy changes to broaden the scope of <abbr>APP<\/abbr> roles in clinical trials and implement a novel care delivery research concept. This concept integrates APPs across the NCI Community Oncology Research Program. <\/p>\n<p>Braun-Inglis was honored at the 2024 <abbr>ACCC<\/abbr> Awards Ceremony on March 1 in Washington, D.C., during the organization\u2019s 50th Annual Meeting and Cancer Center Business Summit. The award is named in honor of the late Dr. David K.
