Spearheaded by the pioneering Indigenous performance research institute <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/anno\/\"><span aria-label=\"Ahahui\">&#699;Ahahui<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Noii\">Noi&#699;i<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Noeau\">No&#699;eau<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Oiwi\">&#699;&#332;iwi<\/span><\/a> (ANNO), the <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/anno\/conference\/\"><span aria-label=\"Noii\">Noi&#699;i<\/span> Nowelo<\/a> conference March 14&#8211;15, seeks to broaden understanding and enrich contributions to the emerging field of Indigenous performance studies. ANNO is housed under the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/hanakeaka\/\">Hawaiian Theatre program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In <span aria-label=\"olelo\">&#699;&#333;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> (Hawaiian language) <span aria-label=\"Noii\">Noi&#699;i<\/span> Nowelo can be understood as a deep and investigative delving, as a researcher may seek deep knowledge. The conference will bring together <abbr>UH<\/abbr> experts from diverse academic and performance backgrounds, and artist-scholars from around the Pacific.
