Additional opportunities for international research programs, labs, conferences, workshops and more will be available to University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa faculty and students after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU<\/abbr>) with the Korea Food Research Institute (KFRI<\/abbr>) in January.<\/p>\n

The MOU<\/abbr> was signed between the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/a> (CTAHR<\/abbr>) Associate Dean for Research Walter Bowen, Brent White of UH<\/abbr>\u2019s Office of Global Engagement and Hyung-Hee Baek of KFRI<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n

“KFRI<\/abbr> is only one of many government-affiliated research institutes in the food and agriculture sectors in Korea,” said Soojin Jun, a professor in CTAHR<\/abbr>\u2019s Department of Human Nutrition, Food, and Animal Sciences<\/a>. “There are plenty of funding opportunities requiring international collaborations. With this MOU<\/abbr>, we anticipate more exchanges of faculty, scholars, and students, academic publications, organizations of joint research programs such as on-site labs, and periodical joint conference meetings or workshops.”<\/p>\n

After the signing ceremony, KFRI<\/abbr> delegates and UH<\/abbr> faculty presented their own research projects and further discussed the potential for collaboration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
