University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> women\u2019s volleyball<\/a> senior middle blocker Amber Igiede earned AVCA<\/abbr> third-team All-America honors for the second-straight season. Igiede is the 18th Rainbow Wahine to earn multiple AVCA<\/abbr> All-American awards. She was voted The Big West Championship’s Most Valuable Player after leading the \u2018Bows to their fourth-straight conference title and the program’s 30th-straight NCAA<\/abbr> tournament. The All-Americans will be honored at the 2023 AVCA<\/abbr> All-America Banquet on December 15 at the Tampa Convention Center.<\/p>\n

The 2023 All-America class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second and third teams—from 22 schools. An additional 56 players were named honorable mention. Igiede is one of three players out of the 42 to represent a non-Power 5 conference.<\/p>\n

Igiede concluded 2023 as the NCAA<\/abbr>‘s No. 2 ranked middle blocker in both total points (540.0) and points\/set (4.62) while leading The Big West with 435 kills (career-high), 3.72 kills per set, a .396 hitting percentage, total points and points\/set. Igiede led Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> with 127.0 blocks, 1.09 blocks per set, 28 service aces while scooping up a career-high 117 digs. She led UH<\/abbr> in all four seasons in block solos, block assists and total blocks.<\/p>\n
