On November 10, members of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo <a href=\"https:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/maunakea\/\">Center for Maunakea Stewardship<\/a> (<abbr>CMS<\/abbr>) participated in the Girl Scouts of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> STEM Fest at Aunty Sally\u2019s <span aria-label=\"Luau\">L&#363;&#699;au<\/span> Hale in Hilo to encourage young women to pursue college degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related fields.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>CMS<\/abbr> employee Krystal Schlechter, who coordinates stargazing on Maunakea, combined forces with Maunakea Ranger Blair Southworth to coordinate a hands-on activity for the Girl Scouts on the life cycle of a star.
