Irwin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcuh.com\/\">Research Corporation of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a> (<abbr>RCUH<\/abbr>) has recognized 20 exemplary employees for their contributions and impact to research at <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> conducted on <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>, Maui and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island.<\/p>\n<p>The awards were based on the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Initiative, leadership and resourcefulness in carrying out their achievements<\/li>\n<li>Impact of their achievements on the project, professional field and\/or larger community<\/li>\n<li>Other variables such as the significance or quality of their achievements<\/li>\n<li>Each individual received a certificate and cash award. First-place awardees received $1,000 (shared equally by team members), while second-place awardees received $500 (shared equally by team members).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Team Category<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>First place (tie): <a href=\"https:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/maunakea\/\">Center for Maunakea Stewardship<\/a>, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo (Mark Ellis, Robert Madrigal, Oscar Poua, Tommy Waltjen)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.soest.hawaii.edu\/cimar\/\">Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research<\/a>, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (<abbr>SOEST<\/abbr>) (Corinne Amir, Jonny Charendoff, Mia Lamirand, Frances Lichowski<\/li>\n<li>Second Place: <a href=\"https:\/\/ola.jabsom.hawaii.edu\/\">Ola HAWAII<\/a>, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <a href=\"https:\/\/jabsom.hawaii.edu\/\">John A. A selection committee comprised of Peter Adler, Sarah Guay and Taryn Salmon selected the awardees.
