For the second consecutive week, University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Rainbow Warrior<\/a> wide receiver Pofele Ashlock was named the Mountain West\u2019s Freshman of the Week after another standout performance in the team\u2019s loss to Stanford on September 1<\/a>. After UH<\/abbr>\u2019s first two games of the season, Ashlock leads the nation (Football Bowl Subdivision) with 241 yards receiving and has three receiving touchdowns among his team-best 15 receptions.<\/p>\n

Against the Cardinal, the Euless, Texas native eclipsed 100-yards receiving for the second straight week becoming the first UH<\/abbr> freshman to accomplish that feat in the Division I<\/abbr> era. Ashlock finished with a team-best eight catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He is also the first Rainbow Warrior player to surpass 100-yards receiving in the first two games of a season since 2018 (John Ursua).<\/p>\n

Ashlock’s first score was a 7-yarder in the second quarter that tied the game at 7. He later hauled in a 16-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The freshman also reeled in a 38-yard catch in the third quarter, his third 30+ yard reception of the season.<\/p>\n
