Carl Carlson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Regent Carl Carlson<\/a> was honored by the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce<\/a> with the Pualu Award for Lifetime Service. Carlson was recognized for his longstanding dedication to serving the best interests of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, both the state and the island. As founder of Huʻehuʻe<\/span> Ventures, he provides real estate consulting and agricultural property management services.<\/p>\n

Carlson was a trustee of the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust and served on the boards of Parker Ranch and Waimea Wastewater. In the ranching realm, he also served as a board member of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Meat Company, Kahua Beef Sales and Island Commodities Corporation.<\/p>\n

Carlson has also served a term as chair of the County of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Board of Ethics, served two terms on the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> State Board of Agriculture, is a former member of the Historic Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Foundation and the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. From its inception, he served as vice president of the Kohala Center and currently sits on the advisory committee of the Kukio Community Fund, a charitable fund administered under the umbrella of the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Community Foundation.<\/p>\n

He is one of the founders and serves as facilitator of the Kona Water Roundtable. Carlson has twice served as chairman of the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Leeward Planning Conference, twice been a board member of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and is a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. <\/p>\n

The chamber also recognizes Carlson for his seat on the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s Board of Regents<\/a>, and his perseverance, dedication and commitment to bringing a new campus and a new level of higher education to West Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n
