The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa<\/a> men’s golf team placed two members on the 2022–23 Golf Coaches Association of America<\/a> (GCAA<\/abbr>) All-America Scholars list. Remington Hirano and Tyler Ogawa were among the 546 Division I<\/abbr> athletes to earn the recognition.<\/p>\n

To be eligible for GCAA<\/abbr> All-America Scholar nomination an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA<\/abbr> Division I<\/abbr>,II<\/abbr>, III<\/abbr> and NAIA<\/abbr>, or earning their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA<\/abbr>. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA<\/abbr> Division I<\/abbr> and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA<\/abbr>. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.<\/p>\n

Ogawa, a sophomore from Honolulu, was also selected to the College Sports Communicators All-District team<\/a> earlier this season and competed in nine tournaments with a 74.0 scoring average.<\/p>\n

In his lone season at UH<\/abbr> Mānoa after transferring from the University of San Diego, Hirano competed in all 10 tournaments finishing with a 74.3 average.<\/p>\n
