The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Board of Regents<\/a> elected Alapaki Nahale-a<\/a> as chair and Gabriel Lee<\/a> and Ernest Wilson<\/a> as vice chairs for one-year terms at a July 6 special meeting. Their terms run from July 2023 to June 2024.<\/p>\n

“I am very honored the regents have faith in me to play that important role,” said Nahale-a after the meeting. “I am excited about our collection of regents and their array of experience, a lot of public service, and they clearly care about the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. It\u02bbs going to be a great group to be a part of.”<\/p>\n

The board is composed of 11 regents, who volunteer to serve without compensation. UH<\/abbr> regents are nominated by the Regents Candidate Advisory Council<\/a>, appointed by the governor and confirmed by the state legislature.<\/p>\n

The board is responsible for formulating policy and exercises control over the university through its executive officer, the university president. The board has exclusive jurisdiction over the internal structure, management and operation of the 10-campus UH<\/abbr> System.<\/p>\n
