Jeff Stearns<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Honolulu Community College<\/a> Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO<\/abbr>) Jeff Stearns has been selected as an Academic Member with the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges<\/a> (ACCJC<\/abbr>). Stearns will begin his three-year term on July 1, 2023.<\/p>\n

“It is a great privilege for me to be elected to be on this ACCJC<\/abbr> commission,” said Stearns.<\/p>\n

As an ACCJC<\/abbr> member, Stearns will assist in determining if a community college will receive accreditation by ensuring that the institution meets all requirements to provide a quality education experience. ACCJC<\/abbr> oversees the accreditation for the 136 community colleges in California, Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> and the Pacific.<\/p>\n

Stearns has worked with Honolulu CC<\/abbr> since 2010, and has served as the ALO<\/abbr> since May 2017. Alongside the chancellor and the campus, the ALO<\/abbr> facilitates and maintains institutional accreditation activities, and manages reports and ACCJC<\/abbr> team visits to keep the college on track. Stearns managed Honolulu CC<\/abbr>\u2019s last report, and the college received accreditation by the ACCJC<\/abbr> in January 2019 for seven years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
