Also attending were <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo Chancellor Bonnie Irwin; representatives from the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Department of Agriculture and Department of Health; university staff from Sodexo\u2019s campus dining services; community college instructors and students; and high school students.<\/p>\n<h2>Beekeeping scholarships<\/h2>\n<p>At the beginning of the program, scholarships were presented to select <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo students. Elizabeth Schmitz, another agriculture major, was awarded the $1,000 spring 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhfoundation.org\/give\/giving-opportunity\/sweet-sustainability#:~:text=The%20Adopt%2DA%2DBeehive%20with,University%20of%20Hawai%CA%BBi%20at%20Hilo.&#038;text=Scholarship%20benefits%20student%20beekeepers%20and%20promotes%20sustainable%20agriculture.\">Adopt-A-Beehive with Alan Wong Scholarship<\/a>.
