She took home a trio of <abbr>MPSF<\/abbr> individual titles and was also a part of three conference championship relay squads. The senior transfer capped off her season with a trip to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (<abbr>NCAA<\/abbr>) Championships where she earned All-America status in the 100 free by finishing in seventh place.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson made an instant impact in her first season as a Rainbow Wahine, helping <abbr>UH<\/abbr> to three freestyle relay conference titles and entering the program top 10 in both the 50 and 100 free. She swam the opening leg of the 200 and 400 free to help the Rainbow Wahine to <abbr>NCAA<\/abbr> appearances in both events. Nelson was also the <abbr>MPSF<\/abbr> runner-up to Transom in both the 50 and 100 free while placing seventh in the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p>In his first year leading the program, Stephens led the Rainbow Wahine to a number of record-setting performances and a dominant showing at the <abbr>MPSF<\/abbr> Championships. The <abbr>UH<\/abbr> women gained their sixth conference title in the last seven years by finishing nearly 170 points ahead of the second-place team.
