The No. 1 University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa men’s volleyball<\/a> team celebrated its second consecutive national championship with a post-match ring ceremony on March 3 at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Warriors received their 2022 NCAA<\/abbr> championship rings in front of a season-high crowd of 7,452 fans. Fans were able to take photos with both the 2021 and 2022 national championship trophies and the first 3,000 people also received a free commemorative coin.<\/p>\n

The ceremony came after UH<\/abbr>\u2019s dominant straight set win over No. 7 Pepperdine University, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21. This was UH<\/abbr>\u2019s 13th consecutive match defeating Pepperdine, dating back to 2010.<\/p>\n

With the win, UH<\/abbr> (15-0) remained perfect on the year and extended its overall win streak to 23 matches, home win streak to a record-breaking 28 matches and regular season home win streak to 32 matches.<\/p>\n

Spyros Chakas<\/strong> led UH<\/abbr> with a match-high 15 kills, hitting .591 with two aces and two blocks. Dimitrios Mouchlias<\/strong> added seven kills and five blocks while middle blockers Cole Hogland<\/strong> and Guilherme Voss<\/strong> each tallied six kills and combined to hit .733. Voss led the team with eight blocks. As a team, UH<\/abbr> hit .405 with 11 team blocks and six aces.<\/p>\n

This week, UH<\/abbr> hosts the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational<\/a>, March 9–11 at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The tournament field features No. 1 UH<\/abbr>, No. 2 UCLA<\/abbr>, No. 3 Penn State and Purdue Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n
