As haum&#257;na in the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> system, I have seen countless students form a deep connection to who they are as they obtain knowledge from courses rooted in <span aria-label=\"ike\">&#699;ike<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> that include <span aria-label=\"moolelo\">mo&#699;olelo<\/span> about the achievements of their k&#363;puna, the bounty of their <span aria-label=\"aina,\">&#699;&#257;ina,<\/span> and the truth of their past that they have never heard before. These cultural <span aria-label=\"moolelo\">mo&#699;olelo<\/span> then become a significant part of their individual stories, which I have witnessed change the trajectory of the lives of many of our students.
