University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo women\u2019s basketball<\/a> player Kamalu Kamakawiwoʻole<\/span><\/strong> and men\u2019s basketball<\/a> player Carlos Ramsey Jr.<\/strong> earned KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores Superstars of the Week awards for January 11–24.<\/p>\n

Kamakawiwoʻole<\/span> averaged 6.8 rebounds over the Vulcans\u2019 last five games and put up double-digit scoring figures in three of them. She scored a career-high 21 points in UH<\/abbr> Hilo\u2019s 60-48 victory over Academy of Art University on January 12. On January 24, she had her third three-steal game of the season against Fresno Pacific University.<\/p>\n

Ramsey Jr. averaged 17.2 points across the Vulcans\u2019 last five games. He put up a season-high 26 points to help lead UH<\/abbr> Hilo to a 75-58 win over Fresno Pacific on January 24.<\/p>\n

The KTA<\/abbr> Superstars award<\/a> names one male and one female Vulcans student-athlete each week, highlighting their accomplishments from the prior week.<\/p>\n
