The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s<\/a> and men\u2019s<\/a> basketball teams had a strong weekend against UC<\/abbr> Riverside. The Rainbow Wahine claimed a 55-51 home win while the Warriors won 67-63 on the road in Riverside, California. <\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine\u2019s final score of 55-51 marked their seventh straight win over UC<\/abbr> Riverside. UH<\/abbr> took the lead late in the first half and maintained it through a relatively close game. <\/p>\n

Sophomore guard Lily Wahinekapu<\/strong> led the team with 14 points, a career-high 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kallin Spiller<\/strong> chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds to contribute to UH<\/abbr>‘s advantage inside.<\/p>\n

Rainbow Warriors<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

The men’s basketball team picked up a pivotal road win by knocking off first-place UC<\/abbr> Riverside, 67-63. The Rainbow Warriors snapped UC<\/abbr> Riverside\u2019s six-game winning streak.<\/p>\n

Junior guard JoVon McClanahan<\/strong> scored a team-high 19 points and shot 9-of-10 free throws, including a pair of free throws with 9.7 seconds left to help seal the win. Bernardo da Silva<\/strong> poured in 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting with all but four of his points coming in the second half. He also added a team-high eight rebounds.<\/p>\n
