A new forum aims to empower University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa researchers and scholars with support and professional development through the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship<\/a> (OVPRS<\/abbr>). The inaugural Puwalu Faculty Research Forum is scheduled for January 18, 2023, 12–1 p.m. at the Â鶹´«Ã½M\u0101noa ITS<\/abbr> Conference Room 105A\/B.<\/p>\n

Christopher Sabine<\/strong>, interim vice provost for research and scholarship, will provide an overview of the services that OVPRS<\/abbr> provides to support research at all levels from undergraduate to graduate, post-doctoral and faculty research.<\/p>\n

“Our goal at the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship is to be a useful resource for everyone on campus with an interest in research, regardless of your discipline or school and whether you are an undergraduate student, graduate student, postdoctoral researcher, research staff or faculty member,” said Sabine. “If we can\u2019t help you directly, we will work to connect you with the appropriate resources that can help.”<\/p>\n

Chad Walton<\/strong>, interim assistant vice provost for research and scholarship, will follow up with a discussion of how OVPRS<\/abbr> can help individual researchers find potential funding opportunities for specific research ideas, locate local or national collaborators, or assist them in identifying possible honorific awards.<\/p>\n

The Puwalu Faculty Research Forum is planned as a monthly event and aims to position faculty for success in their research careers by providing tools and techniques that can impact funding success, nurture a spirit of collegiality and provide diverse opportunities for professional development. Although the title says Faculty Forum, all are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n
