A journal article on engineering management by a University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa College of Engineering<\/a> faculty member is approaching 190,000 downloads, the second highest among the 145,000 articles published in the American Society of Civil Engineers<\/a>\u2019 (ASCE<\/abbr>) 35 journals.<\/p>\n

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering<\/a> Professor Amarjit Singh<\/strong>\u2019s article, “Organizational Power in Perspective<\/a>,” was published in Leadership and Management in Engineering<\/em> in 2009. It \u200b\u200bincludes a review and analysis of the concepts of power in management literature, a description of power styles and classical research findings on the optimum use of power. The high number of downloads is a measure of the acceptance and value of the published article.<\/p>\n

“It is a fortunate achievement and great honor to be among the two highest downloads of the hundreds of thousands of articles published by ASCE<\/abbr>,” Singh said.<\/p>\n

The data for the downloads was collected from 2016 after ASCE<\/abbr> moved to a new platform. The article was also selected as the runner-up for the ASCE<\/abbr> Journal\u2019s 2009 Best Paper Award.
