University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo women\u2019s basketball<\/a> player Kamalu Kamakawiwoʻole<\/span><\/strong> and men\u2019s basketball<\/a> player Nadjrick Peat<\/strong> earned PacWest<\/abbr> Defender of the Week recognitions for November 28–December 4.<\/p>\n

Kamalu Kamakawiwoʻole<\/span><\/h2>\n

Kamakawiwoʻole<\/span> recorded a double-double in the Vulcans\u2019 70-52 win over Chaminade University on December 3. She had 16 points and 11 rebounds along with four steals and a blocked shot. For the week, she accumulated seven steals, three blocked shots, 18 rebounds and 28 points.<\/p>\n

Nadjrick Peat<\/h2>\n

Peat had a total of six blocked shots and 16 rebounds as the Vulcans began PacWest<\/abbr> play at 2-0 with last week\u2019s road victories over Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific University (HPU<\/abbr>) and Chaminade University.<\/p>\n

He also had 31 points on the offensive end. In the Vulcans\u2019 71-66 win over HPU<\/abbr>, he contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots and one monster dunk on a fastbreak.<\/p>\n

Peat hit 13 of his 16 shots and leads the PacWest<\/abbr> in field goal percentage at 79.4%. He also has a large lead at the top of the blocked shots category with 2.8 per game.<\/p>\n
