In 2017, she earned her <abbr title=\"Bachelor of Fine Arts\">BFA<\/abbr> in Communication Studies and Dance from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s director, writer, editor and producer is Brigitte\u2019s younger sister, Angelique Kalani Axelrode, who earned her <abbr title=\"Bachelor of Science\">BS<\/abbr> from Vanderbilt University in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This film was born out of my sister\u2019s and my distinct yet simultaneous journeys to understand and learn more about Native Hawaiian culture,&rdquo; said Angelique. &ldquo;Creating the film together was incredibly cathartic.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Other <abbr>UH<\/abbr> students involved in the film are producer <strong>Iolani Brosio<\/strong>, a <abbr title=\"Doctor of Philosophy\">PhD<\/abbr> student in the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.hawaii.edu\/\">Department of English<\/a> at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa who was Brigitte\u2019s kumu (teacher\/instructor) at <a href=\"https:\/\/maui.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Maui College<\/a>; and filmmaker <strong>Josiah Castillo<\/strong>, a <abbr>BFA<\/abbr> candidate in digital cinema at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n<p><em>A Tale of Two Sisters<\/em> will premiere in the &ldquo;Made in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Short Program 1&rdquo; at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 4, at the Consolidated Theatres in Kah\u0101la, and may be viewed virtually from November 14&#8211;27.
