Each classroom is given a box containing educational materials and 25 individual pre-packaged produce for students and their &#699;ohana to try at home. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/manoa-ctahr-lydi-300x238.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-167492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/manoa-ctahr-lydi-300x238.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/manoa-ctahr-lydi-130x103.jpeg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/manoa-ctahr-lydi.jpeg 560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <span aria-label=\"Hoopili\">Ho&#699;opili<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Ai\">&#699;Ai<\/span> Campaign is a partnership between the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.ctahr.hawaii.edu\/\">College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources<\/a> (<abbr>CTAHR<\/abbr>), <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Ulu\">&#699;Ulu<\/span> Cooperative, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm to School Hui, Chef Hui and K\u014dkua <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Foundation. The goal of the campaign is to connect kids with their food and the <span aria-label=\"aina\">&#699;&#257;ina<\/span> (land). <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The hope is to build an interactive, experiential food systems lesson that students will enjoy,&rdquo; explained <strong>Lydi Morgan Bernal<\/strong>, <abbr>CTAHR<\/abbr>\u2019s <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> Farm to School coordinator based in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.ctahr.hawaii.edu\/hnfas\/About\">Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Students get to experience food in a variety of ways,&rdquo; added Bernal. &ldquo;What this campaign includes are education videos. It includes a very simple, easy lesson plan to introduce students to the nutritional value of the foods and to the farmers that grow them.
