The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s cross country<\/a> team continued its upward trend, placing second overall in the Charles Bowles Invitational, held October 1 in Salem, Oregon.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine had a team total of 78 points. Individual results included two top-five finishers and four runners in the top 20.<\/p>\n

“Solid day, team performance was great, excellent improvements from our last one,” said UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa cross country Head Coach Tim Boyce<\/strong>. “Two in the top-five and four in the top 20 was encouraging. We continue to narrow the gap to our fifth scoring runner.”<\/p>\n

Senior Caelan Miller<\/strong> led the ‘Bows with a third-place finish, crossing the finish line at 18:02.3. Fellow senior Sophia Morgan<\/strong> paced just behind Miller at 18:07.8, claiming fifth place. Freshman Keilah Wilkes<\/strong> and sophomore Sam North<\/strong> finished back-to-back for 19th and 20th place, respectively.<\/p>\n

All four Rainbow Wahine improved on their 5k times compared to their first meet of the season<\/a> on September 3.<\/p>\n

As a team, UH<\/abbr> turned in a total time of 1:32.57, averaging 18:36 for the race.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine will return to action on October 15 at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, California. The meet will be the final tuneup for the team in preparation for the Big West Championships set to take place on October 29 in Riverside, California.<\/p>\n
