On the ensuing possession, the Rainbow Warriors cashed in on a 5-yard Parson rush, after a massive 58-yard kickoff return to start the drive by Jalen Perdue. A Matthew Shipley extra point pushed UH up 7-3.

After Duquesne came up empty on its next two drives and UH came up empty on one, a blocked punt by UH’s Kaulana Makaula created a short field for the Rainbow Warriors starting their drive on the Dukes’ 14-yard line. The drive was capitalized by a Parson 17-yard rushing touchdown and a Shipley extra point extended UH’s lead to 14-3. A Duquesne 30-yard field goal as time expired in the first half closed the Rainbow Warrior lead to eight at 14-6.

Duquesne began the third quarter with an efficient drive, however, a pass near the goal line was picked off by Hausman for a touchback. The next play also resulted in an interception as Rainbow Warrior quarterback Joey Yellen’s pass was picked off by the Dukes. However, they couldn’t convert the turnover into points as Duquesne missed a 43-yard field goal.

UH’s next drive ended in a punt, and then the Dukes fired an interception that was taken to the house by Pavihi. A Shipley extra point pushed UH’s lead to 15 at 21-6. UH added a field goal midway through the fourth quarter, while the Dukes managed a touchdown and a 2-point conversion. But that was as close as Duquesne could get, as the Rainbow Warriors sealed the 24-14 win.

Congratulations to
@CoachTimmyChang on his first win as a head coach!
