For the second year in a row, KTA Super Stores<\/a> and the Taniguchi ʻohana<\/span> have pledged to match the next $25,000 donated towards the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a>\u2019s Vulcan Challenge 2022. The second annual Vulcan Challenge<\/a> is just past its midway point and has seen tremendous support from the Vulcan Athletics community with more than 390 donors so far.<\/p>\n

KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores will match up to $1,000 towards each sports program, while the remaining balance will go to the UH<\/abbr> Hilo Vulcan Athletics Fund to support the department as a whole.<\/p>\n

KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores opened in Hilo in 1916 and has been serving the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island community for more than 100 years, currently operating out of seven locations. Founders Koichi and Taniyo Taniguchi believed in a commitment to humbly serve the people of their community.<\/p>\n
