The training could lead to pathways for technical jobs.<\/p>\n<p>As the private and public sectors increasingly rely on cloud computing technology, skilled technical workers continue to be in high demand nationally and in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>. There were more than 9,600 unique job postings requiring cloud computing skills in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> in the past year, according to some estimates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/system-amazon-web-services-lassner-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"President Lassner presenting at podium\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-164387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/system-amazon-web-services-lassner-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/system-amazon-web-services-lassner-93x130.jpg 93w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/system-amazon-web-services-lassner.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The cloud has become the predominant method to rapidly deploy new information systems and services,&rdquo; <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong> said. &ldquo;We are delighted to enter into this new statewide commitment with <abbr>AWS<\/abbr>, one of the leading cloud service providers in the world, and the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> Department of Education, to plan how we will work together to provide real-world <abbr>AWS<\/abbr> skills and certifications to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> residents and students at all levels across the islands.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Through this initiative, organizations in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span> will work with the <abbr>AWS<\/abbr> Academy program to provide educational institutions with no-cost, ready-to-teach, cloud computing curriculum that prepares students for industry-recognized <abbr>AWS<\/abbr> certifications and in-demand cloud jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Educators at participating institutions will have access to instructor training. Students can also access self-paced online training courses and labs from <abbr>AWS<\/abbr>.
