Ching Athletics Complex. Kick-off is 4:30 p.m. and the game will be nationally televised on <abbr>CBS<\/abbr> Sports Network.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"blocklink\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2022\/08\/11\/limited-campus-parking-football-game-days-2022\/\">Related story: Traffic and limited campus parking on football game days<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Timmy Chang<\/strong>, former Rainbow Warrior record breaking quarterback and <abbr>NCAA<\/abbr> all-time passing leader, begins his inaugural season as head coach after taking over his alma mater\u2019s team in January. The season opener marks the beginning of Chang\u2019s &ldquo;Braddahhood&rdquo; era.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Athletics for <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/2021\/8\/15\/clarence-t-c-ching-athletics-complex-game-day-information.aspx\">important game day information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Season opener game theme: &ldquo;Everything Green&rdquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Fans are encouraged to show their school spirit with the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/documents\/2022\/8\/22\/0822_Final_v2_Football_color_scheme.pdf\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Athletics fan color scheme guide<\/a> (<span class=\"small-text\"><abbr title=\"Portable Document Format\">PDF<\/abbr><\/span>) for every regular season home football game. The season opener color scheme is a &ldquo;Green-Out&rdquo; and all fans are encouraged to wear green.<\/p>\n<h2>Promotions and giveaways<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"blocklink\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2022\/08\/18\/ching-athletics-complex-expansion\/\">Related story: $30M Ching Athletics Complex expansion scheduled to begin January 2023<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Game sponsor Bank of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> will distribute 2,000 light sticks and award over 42,000 Hawaiian Airlines Miles during the game. Various other prizes and giveaways will be available, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First 3,000 fans receive a <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Football card, presented by Waikiki Malia by Outrigger, with a chance to redeem for a special prize<\/li>\n<li>Free souvenir cards and schedule cards will be available for fans<\/li>\n<li>Farmers T-shirts will be tossed into the stands between the first and second quarters<\/li>\n<li>One lucky student will compete in the &ldquo;Raising Cane&#8217;s Quarterback Challenge&rdquo; for a chance to win Raising Cane&#8217;s for a year<\/li>\n<li>When the &#8216;Bows score two touchdowns, fans win two free tacos from Jack in the Box. Fans can bring their game tickets to a Jack in the Box location to redeem the offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Pre-game concert: The Green<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/manoa-athletics-football-concert-season-opener-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"U H football pregame concert The Green\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-163973\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/manoa-athletics-football-concert-season-opener-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/manoa-athletics-football-concert-season-opener-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/manoa-athletics-football-concert-season-opener.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Popular reggae band The Green will help kick off the 2022 football season with a special <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/news\/2022\/8\/22\/the-green-to-help-kick-off-football-season-opener.aspx\">pre-game concert<\/a> at 2:30 p.m. at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.<\/p>\n<p>The concert is only open to <strong>ticket holders<\/strong> of the <abbr>UH<\/abbr>-Vanderbilt game and admission is free. Game tickets will be scanned upon entrance to SimpliFi Arena. Seating is general admission.<\/p>\n<p>Arena gates open at 1:30 p.m. and parking gates open at 12:30 p.m. Only those with pre-purchased football parking passes will be allowed into the Lower Campus parking structure. All others will be directed to Upper Campus lots through either East-West Road or Maile Way.<\/p>\n<p>Food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the arena.
