Additional increases for <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <abbr>GA<\/abbr>s are scheduled for August 2023 and August 2024. <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Hilo is currently reviewing future pay increases beyond 2022. The increases raise the minimum step at which a <abbr>GA<\/abbr> can be hired.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Effective August 1, 2022 (M\u0101noa and Hilo), Step 9 ($19,686 for 9 months and $23,028 for 11 months)<\/li>\n<li>Effective August 1, 2023 (M\u0101noa), Step 10 ($20,472 for 9 months and $23,952 for 11 months)<\/li>\n<li>Effective August 1, 2024 (M\u0101noa), Step 11 ($21,288 for 9 months and $24,912 for 11 months)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/policy\/?action=viewPolicy&#038;policySection=ep&#038;policyChapter=9&#038;policyNumber=240\">Executive Policy 9.240 &#8211; Graduate Assistant Sick and Bereavement Leave<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>New sick leave policy<\/h2>\n<p>Starting in fall 2022, a new sick leave policy is in place for all <abbr>GA<\/abbr>s in the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> 10-campus system.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>GA<\/abbr>s with 9-month appointments will now receive up to 63 hours of the designated leave and <abbr>GA<\/abbr>s with 11-month appointments will receive up to 77 hours (<abbr>GA<\/abbr>s with a 0.25 full-time equivalent appointment will be prorated accordingly). Under the new policy, each <abbr>GA<\/abbr> will receive an allotment of sick leave in the Online Leave System at the beginning of each academic semester to use in the event that they become ill.
