University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa women\u2019s soccer<\/a> senior forward Kelci Sumida<\/strong> claimed a spot on the 2022 Big West Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Team after being selected to the Big West Second Team a year ago.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Sumida led the Rainbow Wahine with five goals scored while starting in all 14 matches. Four of her five goals were against conference opponents, including her first career multi-goal match against California State University, Northridge.<\/p>\n

As a team, UH<\/abbr> also received a No. 7 ranking in the 2022 Big West Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll.<\/p>\n

The Rainbow Wahine are placed one spot above where they finished their 2021 campaign. UH<\/abbr> wrapped up with a 2-9-3 overall record while going 2-5-2 against the conference. The squad was selected at No. 6 heading into last season.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> will officially begin its regular season on August 18 as the team takes on Western Athletic Conference preseason favorite, Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n
