The &ldquo;<em>Make it Happen<\/em>&rdquo; campaign also highlights the opportunities and value offered by the seven campuses across the state.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"U H Community College digital ad, women looking at equipment\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-159968\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-1-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-1.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There\u2019s a lot of options for me here,&rdquo; said <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> Community College student <strong>Raymond Berdon<\/strong>, an aspiring social worker. &ldquo;As a full-time worker, they work hard to meet your needs. If it wasn\u2019t for the resources they provided to me, I wouldn\u2019t be able to go to college to pursue my dreams.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>A <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Community College education continues to be one of the most reasonably priced options in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. The tuition cost for a full-time student is about $3,000 a year. In addition, <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Community Colleges offer the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2022\/03\/15\/hawaii-promise-scholarship-provides-free-tuition-more\/\"><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Promise Scholarship<\/a>, which provides money from <abbr>UH<\/abbr> and the State of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> to eligible students to cover education costs&#8212;such as tuition, fees and books&#8212;that are not met by other forms of financial aid. Last year, 1,800 students from seven <abbr>UH<\/abbr> Community Colleges statewide benefitted with an average award of $1,629.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-2-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"U H Community College digital ad, man pulling fruit\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-159969\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-2-130x73.jpg 130w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/uhcc-digital-ads-2.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Applications for the fall 2022 semester by <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> public high school class of 2022 graduates look promising. As of May 23, the number of applications submitted had increased by more than 36&#37; (3,900 applications compared to 2,900 last year). Earlier this year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2022\/03\/07\/free-fast-uh-community-college-application\/\"><span aria-label=\"Kamaaina\">Kama&#699;&#257;ina<\/span> app<\/a> was launched for Class of 2022 graduates to make the college application process easier.
