Celebrate spring with Lyon Arboretum<\/a>’s biggest horticultural sale of the year.<\/p>\n

Saturday, April 20, 2013
\n9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
\nAdmission is free<\/p>\n

Fruit trees, roses, cactus, succulents, heliconias, gingers, anthuriums, herbs, vegetables, hot peppers, Hawaiian plants, orchids, bromeliads and many others (whew!) are among the plants on sale this weekend at Lyon Arboretum.<\/p>\n

Additionally, volunteers from Hui Hana Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> will be selling haku lei, wristlets, nosegays, dried hat lei and oshibana (pressed, dried flower art), as well as jams, jellies and Hawaiian honey. A vermiculture, or worm composting, demonstration will be on site with starter kits available.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the event will help to support arboretum programs.<\/p>\n

The Lyon Arboretum is located at 3860 Mānoa Road, in the back of lush Mānoa Valley. See driving and public transportation directions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A free shuttle service to the arboretum has pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Poʻelua<\/span> Street and Mānoa Road, and Nipo Street and Mānoa Road.<\/p>\n

About Lyon Arboretum<\/h2>\n

Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre rainforest botanical garden administered by the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Mānoa<\/a>. They are open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed on Sundays and state holidays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
