The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo baseball team\u2019s<\/a> starting shortstop Casey Yamauchi has been named to College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA<\/abbr>)\u2019s 2022 Academic All-District Baseball Team.<\/p>\n

Yamauchi is one of 12 players named to the team from the NCAA<\/abbr> Division II<\/abbr> west region, which encompasses all teams from the Pacific West Conference, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the California Collegiate Athletic Association.<\/p>\n

Yamuachi is now eligible for Academic All-American consideration later this month. UH<\/abbr> Hilo has had two athletes receive CoSIDA<\/abbr> All-America honors. One was former baseball player Phillip Steering, who received Third Team recognition and the other was women\u2019s volleyball player Bria Beale who was UH<\/abbr> Hilo\u2019s first First Team selection.<\/p>\n

Yamauchi has a 3.70 grade point average in his double major of kinesiology and communications. He currently leads the PacWest in batting average at .403 and ranks 13th in the country with 21 doubles.<\/p>\n
