They include two reappointments and two new members. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The highly skilled people I\u2019ve selected to be on the Board of Education bring a range of experiences that will contribute to a public education system that delivers results for the people of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>,&rdquo; said Gov. David Ige.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Damien &ldquo;Kaimana&rdquo; Barcarse<\/strong> is being reappointed to the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> County seat for a three-year term. A graduate of <a href=\"http:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\">Â鶹´«Ã½Hilo<\/a>, Barcarse earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in Hawaiian Studies and a master&#8217;s degree in Hawaiian Language and Literature. Barcarse currently serves as catalytic initiatives for Kamehameha Schools and is also a <abbr title=\"disc jockey\">DJ<\/abbr> and program producer of <em>Alana I Kai Hikina<\/em>, a radio show which broadcasts entirely in <span aria-label=\"Olelo\">&#699;&#332;lelo<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> on <abbr>KWXX-FM<\/abbr>. <\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Ken Kuraya<\/strong> is being appointed to complete the three-year term of Catherine Payne\u2019s at-large seat, which runs through June 30, 2024. Kuraya, who earned a Secondary School Teacher Certificate and School Administrator Certification from the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa College of Education, is an educator who served for 40 years in various roles within the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> State Department of Education, from the classroom to the administration. <\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Lauren Moriarty<\/strong> is being appointed to complete Lyla Berg\u2019s three-year term in a City and County of Honolulu seat, which runs through June 30, 2024. Moriarty, who earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in economics from <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, is a former <abbr title=\"United States\">U.S.<\/abbr> Ambassador, career diplomat, and Dean of Academics at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. She was the first <abbr>U.S.<\/abbr> Ambassador of Native Hawaiian ancestry.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Bruce Voss <\/strong>is being reappointed to an at-large seat for a three-year term. Voss is an alumnus of the <a href=\"http:\/\/law.hawaii.edu\">William S. Richardson School of Law<\/a> at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa. He is a partner with the law firm of Bays Lung Rose &#38; Holma, specializing in business, real estate and employment law and litigation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also appointed to the board was N.
